Is passivation the right finish for my stainless steel part?+

Passivation is usually reviewed for stainless steel parts that need improved corrosion resistance, cleaner surface condition and reduced surface contamination risk. Feiyu checks material grade, machining route, weld areas, cosmetic expectation and inspection needs before confirming the finish.

Which stainless steel parts can Feiyu support?+

Will passivation affect part dimensions?+

Passivation normally has much lower dimensional impact than coating or plating, but Feiyu still reviews critical dimensions, threads, precision fits and inspection requirements before production.

Can threaded holes and precision surfaces be protected?+

Yes. Threaded holes, sealing faces, bearing fits, contact areas and other critical surfaces can be reviewed before passivation. Mark these areas clearly on the drawing.

Can passivation remove weld discoloration or heavy scale?+

Passivation is not a substitute for mechanical finishing. Weld discoloration, heavy scale, burrs or surface defects may require cleaning, brushing, polishing or another preparation step before passivation.

Is passivation suitable for outdoor stainless steel parts?+

It can help improve corrosion resistance for selected stainless steel parts, but performance depends on stainless grade, surface condition, environment, cleaning, design and customer specification.
