Can threaded holes be masked or protected?+

Yes. Threaded holes, contact faces, grounding areas, bearing fits and precision assembly surfaces can be reviewed for masking or protection. These areas should be clearly marked on the drawing.

Will electroplating affect dimensions?+

Yes. Plating adds thickness and can affect threads, fits, holes and precision surfaces. Feiyu reviews critical dimensions and coating thickness requirements before quotation and production.

How do you inspect plating thickness?+

Inspection can include visual review, coating thickness check, thread and hole inspection, dimensional inspection, adhesion review when required and final inspection reports according to customer requirements.

Is electroplating suitable for outdoor parts?+

Electroplating can support corrosion protection, but outdoor performance depends on material, plating type, coating thickness, passivation, salt spray requirement and service environment. Powder coating may be better for large outdoor welded structures.
